How To Find the Administrator Password in Windows 7

An administrator password in Windows 7 is the password to any account that's setup to access administrator level functions in Windows 7.
There is also an account called "Administrator" but it's disabled in Windows 7 by default. What you really need in most cases is the password to any account that can act as an administrator.
There are a few times when you will need this password. You may need an administrator password in Windows 7 if you're trying to run certain types of programs or access certain Windows 7 recovery tools.
Follow the steps below to quickly find an administrator password in Windows 7:

Time Required: Finding the password to an admin account may take minutes up to hours depending on the situation

Here's How:

Try leaving the password blank if you're trying to log on to the actual "Administrator" account. Just press Enter without typing anything when asked for it.
This trick doesn't work nearly as often in Windows 7 as it did in Windows XP but it's still worth a shot.
Enter the password to your account. Often times, depending on how Windows 7 was setup on your computer, the primary user account will be configured with administrator privileges.
Try to remember your administrator password. As I mentioned in the last step, your account might be configured as an administrator, especially if you installed Windows 7 on your computer yourself.
If that's true, but you've forgotten your password, you might be able to make really good guesses at what the administrator password might be.
Have another user enter his or her credentials. If there are other users that have accounts on your Windows 7 computer, one of them may be setup with administrator access.
If this is true, have the other user designate you as an administrator as well.
Recover an administrator password using a Windows password recovery tool. You may be able to recover or reset an administrator password with one of these free tools.
Note: Some password recovery tools in the list I linked to above also have the ability to add administrator privileges to regular Windows 7 user accounts which could be valuable if you know your account's password but it's not an administrator account. Some can also enable accounts like the "Administrator" account.
Perform a clean install of Windows 7. This type of installation will completely remove Windows 7 from your PC and install it again from scratch.
Obviously don't attempt this extreme solution unless you absolutely have to. For example, if you're needing an admin password to access operating system diagnostic tools and this is your last effort to save your PC, performing a clean install will work because you'll have an opportunity to setup a new account from scratch during Windows 7 setup.

Offline Windows Password & Registry Editor, Bootdisk / CD

I've put together a single floppy or CD / USB Drive which contains things needed to reset the passwords on most systems. The CD can also be installed on a USB drive, see readme.txt on the CD.

The bootdisk should support most of the more usual disk controllers, and it should auto-load most of them. Both PS/2 and USB keyboard supported.

More or less tested from NT3.5 up to Windows 7, including the server versions like 2003 and 2008. Also 64 bit windows supported.

DANGER WILL ROBINSON!
If password is reset on users that have EFS encrypted files, and the system is XP or newer, all encrypted files for that user will be UNREADABLE! and cannot be recovered unless you remember the old password again If you don't know if you have encrypted files or not, you most likely don't have them. (except maybe on corporate systems)

Hide unwanted images from gallery

Hiding these images is extremely simple and can be done for free with my favorite freeware browser - Y-Browser

First open Y-browser and select [options] -> [search files]. Now in the “Filename” field, input a picture title followed by “.*” as pictured below (since you don’t know what format the picture is). Then select [Options] -> [Start search]. You do not need to do this if you know the directory where the images are stored of course.

Once you have found your file in the list of search results, highlight it and select [Options] -> [File] -> [Attributes].

Now simply change “System” and “Hidden” to yes and select [Save].

repeat same for all files you want to be hide.

and finally restart the phone.

Key in Proxy settings for access point in NOKIA S40 v2 v3

As we all know, Nokia doesn't allow one to specify a proxy for an Access Point in Series 40 v2 and v3 phones (6131, 6133, 3110c ...) etc.

In its recent versions of the Series40 OS (v2 & v3), Nokia has removed the ability to specify a proxy server associated with an access point. Therefore, those with WAP network plans (such as TMobileWeb users, Airtel NOP users) are unable to use JAVA programs that require internet access (such as Opera Mini, Google Maps, ...).

However, Nokia does allow users to create a provisioning document on their computer. This document, created in wbxml, specifies an access point along with a proxy. The S40 phone recognizes the configuration settings in the document and allows the JAVA midlet to use those instead, thereby allowing the midlet to access the proxy. Its very simple to implement.

The files included in the zip provide some sample xml documents, and the associated provisioning (.prov) files.

QUICK START:
1: Push the "NokiaJAVAProxy.prov" file to your phone using Bluetooth. send the file via "Send File..." option only do not copy paste to your phone ("object push", not file transfer). If your are unable to do it, just transfer it to any bluetooth supported phone and send that file via bluetooth to your phone.

2: The phone will recognize the configuration settings, and will prompt you to save them. Don't worry if it says "no supported applications".

3: Go to Settings->Configuration->Default Config. Settings, and change the default config to [the name of the configuration we just loaded].

That's it! JAVA midlets like Opera Mini, Google Maps, MGMaps, etc... should work now.
